Family-run in Co. Louth

View from Rosemount Glamping across the fields to Carlingford Lough and the Irish Sea

Why Rosemount

Not camping. A small, styled retreat with a view worth the drive.

Rosemount sits on a terraced hillside of dry stone walls, planting and lit walkways, with the Cooley mountains behind and Carlingford Lough opening out in front. Each tent is set into its own pocket of the garden.

Inside, it is all soft: a made-up double bed, rugs underfoot, garlands and candlelight, and a stove that keeps the canvas warm on the coldest Louth night. Outside, a covered kitchen under festoon lights for late evenings.

Woke up to that view over the Lough with the stove still warm. It felt like a boutique hotel that someone lifted onto a hillside.

Booked one night for an anniversary and stayed talking by the fire until 2am. The styling inside the tent was gorgeous — nothing was an afterthought.

Ten minutes from Carlingford village and it feels a world away. Spotless, warm, and the little welcome touches made it.

The outdoor kitchen under the lights at dusk is the memory we came home with. Easy to arrange, brilliant hosts.
